Hot Fudge Pudding Cake

Matt and I scoured cookbooks today for a chocolatey treat and came up with this one. It hit the spot!!! And was simple to make with all the ingredients available in our kitchen.


Hot Fudge Pudding Cake

1 1/4 C sugar, divided
1 C flour
1/2 C cocoa
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 C milk
1/3 C butter, melted
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 C brown sugar
1 1/4 C hot water

Heat oven to 350 degrees
Stir together 3/4 C sugar, flour, 1/4 C cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk, butter, and vanilla; beat until smooth. Pour batter into an ungreased 9 in square pan. Stir together remaining 1/2 C sugar, brown sugar, and 1/4 C cocoa; sprinkle mixture evenly over batter. Pour hot water over top. DO NOT STIR.
Bake at 35-40 minutes or until center is set. Let satnd 15 minutes. spoon into dishes spooning sauce from the bottom of pan over the top. Makes 8 servings.
